Hey Community,

After an extreme amount of testing and cleaning in preparation for Christmas, my son's new Lionel 6-8307 Daylight stopped working after an hour or so of intermittent runtime.

If the engine is on the track, none of the lights turn on, there's no hum, and the sound of steam and horn dont work.  If I take the engine off the track, however, the passenger car lights come back on, and brighten or dim based on how high I set the dial.  This leads me to believe it's DEFINITELY a short somewhere in the engine, but after taking the cab apart and inspecting the wires, I dont see any loose or dirty connections.

Is there a common issue I should troubleshoot for, or is it time to send the engine in to the shop?
