Hello, Well that depends on the track system: 027, Lionel Fastrack, Atlas..etc. Most systems have 30 inch track sections(may be a bit more, but not too much) as the longest track. Not sure about tubular track but I believe those are in the 35-40 inch range. Either way it will require quite a few sections to go around your walls. I have a Lionel Fastrack layout and 30 inches is the longest section.

The train looks nice. The Lost in Space robot is very impressive too. I can almost hear "Warning Will Robinson".

I prefer to place the switch in close proximity to the accessories.

I am not aware of a layout program that will do what you want it to do.

For the full range of speed from the locomotive, turn the throttle to 18 volts. You can use less; it will just limit the top speed of the loco.
The curve radius in the set seems to be 36"
Larry
Actually the curve radius is 18" the diameter is 36". All recent starter sets use 36" diameter 45 degree curves.

Hello Guys, Just wondering if some of the online shops(Charles Ro, MB Klien...etc.) offer after Christmas sales? Thanks.

I am in the planning stage for a medium size layout and have a few questions. I love the look of elevated trains but do not like the added construction time for bench work. I will be using mostly Lionchief loco's so I assume a 2% grade is about maximum, correct? I assume with the R/C aspect of Lionchief loco's that Y's and reverse loops will not require any special electrical wiring. Is this a correct assumption? Thanks for your input.

Thank you. It will be some time before I post any photos because I am in the process of converting about 1/3 of my wood shop into an O scale train room. It will take a lot work as I will be selling some machinery to help make room.

I decided to run to Lowes and pick up some 3/4 inch green insulation board to screw down to the top of the plywood table layout. i think it will be a smoother surface and sound muffler. Are other people thinking the same way
Try using liquid nails to glue it down. You will need to add some weight on top to press it down relatively smooth and to insure good adhesion. Let it dry overnight.
