Smoke unit identification and repair
« on: December 15, 2019, 11:23:54 am »
I’m very new to this.  I was given a Norfolk western 611 locomotive last year and the smoker doesn’t work.

What is the replacement for this?

Are the tubes for smoke from the pistons?

Are there any recommended upgrades?

Thanks!!

The smoke unit is part #8100-060 and is available here:
http://www.sandwparts.com/Parts%20List/6-XXXX-XXX.pdf (page 171)

The tubes direct smoke to the cylinders.

Hennings trains and ttender.com probably have the part too. Sandw is a ripoff.
