Info on Legacy Engines

I just started back with O scale, am interested in Legacy GP9 and RS11, only have basic transformer that came with set.  Can Legacy engines run with basic transformer?

Yes, but consider a larger transformer later on. If you are looking to save money, MTH does have great transformers!
