I am completely new to the world of Lionel trains.  Santa brought my son the Thomas & Friends remote train set for Christmas.  After assembling the tracks and applying power there is a static-like noise that comes from the tracks with the locomotive is sitting on the powered tracks but not moving.  Once the train begins to move the static-like noise goes away but then returns when the train is no longer in motion.  Is this normal?  If it isn't, can it be fixed?
