6-5149 remote uncoupling track
« on: December 08, 2020, 05:25:41 pm »
One of my two #6-5149 remote uncoupling tracks cycles my steam 8302 engine forward to reverse or reverse to forward with or without the wiring to the track connected whenever the engine passes over the track. Any help would be appreciated
Purchased new December 1973 it is an 027 gauge

Compare the 2 tracks visually, mechanically and electrically.

Does the problem track have tight pins in one end, and make tight connections on the other end?

Use an AC voltmeter to follow power through the track from one end to the other. Look for dead spot(s).
