newbie looking for guidance
« on: August 31, 2017, 11:14:28 am »
I was just given a variety of mostly pre war Lionel equipment including 384E, 384T, Vanderbilt streamlined loco, even an HO Lionel set. The boxes also have many cars for the engines to pull and they look pretty good from what I can tell. Track is garbage but it does have some reasonable looking equipment such as tower lights, log loader, etc. The 384e is in very rough shape with most of it in separate pieces. The streamline is not quite as bad.

I am considering rebuilding the moving stock, engines and cars, for possible resale later and would like to know if there are any exploded views of the engines and tenders that will help me determine what parts I will need to purchase to perform this magic. Or for that matter if it is even worthwhile to make the effort. I am currently doing research on the engines to get more info about restoring them.

Any ideas on how to approach this task would be appreciated. Thank you

John
