Powering Two LionChief trains & iCab app
« on: November 28, 2015, 08:04:03 pm »
Last year for Christmas I purchased the Polar Express O Gauge LionChief and the Outer Loop Track Pack.  For Christmas this year I just got the Pennsylvania Flyer LionChief and a CW-80.  Consequently I will have 3 power supplies: two wall packs and the CW-80. I am also thinking of combining the track from the two sets by maybe purchasing some more manual switches. My questions are:

1) I had thought that the CW-80 would supply enough power for both trains, but I see a reference on the official blog that I might need more power if running two trains.

So I'm in a dilemma trying to figure out what I'll need to set this all up.  Assembly of both sets happens Christmas eve at a different location so I can't test things out beforehand.

1a) Will the CW-80 Power both trains?
1b) If not, any way to use the two wall power packs I'll have?
1c) If not 1a or 1b would I need to purchase the 180 powerhouse (6-22983)?
1d) if 1c, will this connect via the wall pack track connector, the CW-80 track connector (which I ordered), or does it use something else?

2.  I aw elsewhere a reference to the iCab app.  It evidently for Legacy and TMCC systems.  Will it work with LionChief?
