Building my own Lionel No. 5F Test Set
« on: October 19, 2016, 12:09:44 pm »
Hi friends!

I am building my own 5F Tester and would like more information than I have. I have most of the parts I need and the case, meters, transformers, lights and all.

I am using the schematic in Greenberg's book.  What I need is more specific information of a few parts. Either someone who knows already or a more specific description of the Lionel parts would be great!

Here are the parts I am having trouble identifying:

Meter Choke part number 5D-38
Whistle Choke part number 5D-16

Also the wattage requirements for the various resistors. I found the wattage for the two adjustable resistors in another place, but, for example, the 0.1 and 0.2 resistors, are they high wattage?

Anyway, if some one could look in their tester, find some specs, or point me in the right direction I would appreciate it!

Thanks,
Charlie
