Hi all having just purchased my first lionel train i thought it would be good to join this forum.
My purchase is a polar express o gauge lioncheif [6-30218] for my sons birthday as i live in the UK i know power would be a problem US 110v @ 60hz  UK 240v @ 50hz  and did not want to go down the route of inverter and bench top power supply.
After researching my options i discovered on the lionel support page the manual for the lioncheif polar express [6-30218] which states the transformer ratings as input 120-240 VAC 50/60hz  so decided to purchase this version, unfortunately on opening i found a transformer  model HKYF36-180175T-US INPUT AC 100-120V 60HZ 0.5A  OUTPUT DC 18V 1750MA 31.5VA  no mention of 240 v or 50hz as described in the users manual.
Can anyone please help with this confusion ???
