3D printed name plate for flat car.
« on: March 04, 2020, 10:06:38 pm »
After making my billboard car adapter I got thinking to what else I could make. I have a blank version of the plate that I can create whatever I want on it. I then remembered that there is a 3D name generator on Thingiverse.

So from there I generated a text message and merged it to a blank flat car base I had made. Lucky for me I ended up with a non-Lionel flat car that I got on ebay. Being shorter than a regular Lionel flat car worked out for me. The shorter car means less blank space on the deck of the car.

I created the base in Vectary, and the name on Thingiverse Creator. I merged them in Vectary and sliced it with Cura. I printed this at high resolution with 15% infill.

If interested drop me a message :D I have two build platforms. The shorter 194mm non Lionel deck and the 254mm Lionel deck. Note that the shorter deck plate has to be attached with sticky tape or 2mm sheet metal screws. The 254mm Lionel deck can use 2mm machine screws and will cause no damage to the car.

Fiercely mediocre
