• Any resources available for  early Lionel wiring diagrams? I have a NY Central #53 0-4-0 Switcher. I need to know how the front headlight is connected. Mine had no wiring, just the light housing.  --TIA

• Headlights are usually wired directly to the power pickup rollers.

  There are two metal bars that extend (~1") vertically directly over and above (each side of) the commutator of the motor (shaped like a staple).  The top of the "staple" is an insulator. The black wire to the light is soldered to one of these bars.
