Bent Cab roof on 675
« on: December 17, 2017, 08:05:22 am »
Hello. Is it possible to bend the metal back in to place on the cab of my loco? I just purchased it and would like to refurbish it. Thanks for any impact. Jumbo.

I'm sorry I should have proof read this post. I am using a cell phone and it spell checked for me. The cab roof is bent. Must have been dropped. Thank you for any input.

Hard impacts may bend them without cracking, but straightening them is almost impossible. I have heard that if you heat the affected area, you may be able to gently bend the affected area back into place.
The boiler (with the cab) is a casting, and as such cannot be bent cold without cracking.
