Coupler attachment to baseplate
« on: January 02, 2020, 05:47:35 pm »
Is it possible to reattach a coupler to the baseplate?  What type of pin would be used to do this?

Once a coupler assembly comes loose from the baseplate, it needs to be replaced. The new coupler assembly has a nib on the bottom which gets peened over to keep it in place. The easiest thing to do is to replace the complete baseplate assembly.

What is the stock number of the rolling stock in question?

Hi, Also, I have a Breakman's Riviter set with a Knuckle Coupler Riviting Tip, a Shoe/Armature Spring Tip and a BR-1 Marking Tip.  Would any of that be usable for penning in a new rivet?

The tool set you have should do the job, but it would be easier to just replace the entire baseplate assembly.
