O-Scale. Am I supposed to keep it this way? Or should I put another traction tire on the other wheel?

Also, does it matter if the train goes clockwise or counter-clockwise in regards to wear and tear? Only one side has the gears.

Hello & Welcome to the Forum!

looking at my loco's with traction tires, l see grooves for a traction tire on only one wheel.

Running  trains, l run them both directions to keep wheel & track wear even.

Hope this is of some help.

Happy Rails!
