Sorry to hear about your accie\dent.
Is the carriage broken or is it the wheels/axle the problem?
IF the carriage is the problem, you might be able to fashion one out of a tin can with a pair tin snips & a drill..
Just use the original one for a pattern and try to recreate it

Now l am not going to say this is the gospel, but unless you are using it in a climate controlled area l would be very hesitant to use fastrack outdoors.
Rust/corrosion would be a problem.

l used to use special bottles with needle type tips sold by various hobby shops.  Now  just get a few syringes from a diabetic friend and load them up. Allows me to put the oil exactly where l want it...

l use Hook & Loop couplers on most of my Large Scale Rolling Stock.
Cuts down on having to hunt down missing cars from the consist.
Some manufacturers' knuckle couplers leave alot to be desired and the little wire ties from bread bags come in handy keeping your consist together.

Coming out of China, anything is possible especially if being sold in Mexico.
Almost everything is knocked off especially in the large scale trains.  It is possible yours could  be an early release with hook & loops.

l just hold them wheels down and spray inside & out & let the contact cleaner do its job.

I have the Play Gauge Polar Express and agree with you.
Sized a bit smaller than 1/32 & will run on gauge 1 track(or the floor if it derails). Extra track can be located and i've adapted other varieties of gauge 1 plastic track to meet up with the Lionel track.  If adding other manufacturers  large scale train cars to your consist, you will find the little wire ties off of bread bags work as a connector since the couplers will probably not fit together.
l have seen hacks where folks have adapted the loco to track power and/or adapted 9 volt rechargable pacs.

Bachmann is a subsidiary of Kader Industries, They posess the molds to Bachmann & the former Aristocraft use to make the B-mann trains. Possibly others too. Elgeebee knockoffs, Riviolli etc.
You might look/see the manufacture date of the trains, if post cv19 pandemic lower employee workforce, quality controll issue.
First, You will want to make sure your power is constant, use a voltage meter to check each piece of track for continuity.
Make sure the track pins and connector slots are clean/ bright for best continuity.
Second,  Now l am not recomending this, but l do it:  On my n-scale trains, if the wheels etc build up crud l take a can of electrical  contact cleaner and spray the wheel assembly down with it until it runs clean. lt works for me.
Make certain you lube well after any cleaning.
I hope this is of some help.

Beginners Q & A / Re: gradual loss of power

Hello & Welcome to the Forum!

My first suggestion is with the transformer on 100%, take a voltage meter and check each piece of track to see how much power available.
If continuous power reading is available 18 volts then check your locomotive.
IF not, check the pins and connection slots  on each piece of track and clean them bright..

If that isn't a fix, then you need to clean your wheels and pickups on your locomotive & lubricate the rollers.
I use smoke fluid to clean the wheels and rollers with. Alcohol works and other foks have their favorites.

Hello & Welcome to the Forum!

l guess l missed seeing the lighted track in the new 2021 Lionel Catalog.
l can't find any other info on the track about power supply, but am guessing that is will work with your power supply as long as you have an apropriate lockon.
The video l posted was all l could locate.
