Ironman Hello & Welcome to the Forum! It sounds like you have a good handle on what you hope to accomplish with your around the room layout. Screw your track down? You might want to reconsider using screws, They will transmit the sound from the track to the wood which may act to amplify the sound. You might want to consider hot glue or silicone sealer to attach your track to your shelf. A buss system is handy to feed power from, especially with 200 feet of track. After you get your track laid and you have your initial power feed to it, take your multi meter and go around the track checking for areas of power loss. That is where you will want to add feeds to. l would suggest sticking to lock on's to feed power to your track. l hope this is of some help.... Happy Rails! dave

aaronbrugg Hello & Welcome to the Forum!
The track layout you want to do, l have always called a Dog Bone, the similarities are obvious. l suggest that you check out the SCARM layout software, by Forum member 'Mixy', located in the Layout & Design sub-forum, here on the site. Plug in your numbers and let it do its' thing.
Hope this helps... Happy Rails! dave

Hello & Welcome to the Forum!
The Docksider is one of my favorite locomotives. I don't have one in 'O', but do have one in large scale. Changing road names, heralds & paint schemes is/are/can be your next step delving deeper into the hobby... It isn't all just, sitting around listening to your train go clickety clack as it goes roundy round.............

Zephyr Hello & Welcome to the Forum! Sorry to hear about your connectivity problem. If you have access to a multi meter, check each piece of track to see where your power loss is. You might need to add another feed to that area. STOP USING Sand Paper on your track. IF you must, use heavy aluminum foil to rub the rail surface. Clean your track, pins and recepticals with alcohol, smoke fluid, etc on a rag or paper towels. while you're at it, clean your pickup's & wheels on your locomotive. That should bring you full circle, listening to the clickety clack as your train goes roundy round. Happy Rails! dave

Jeff#6000 Hello & Welcome to the Forum!
I don't have the lighted set of cars, mine are the polar express set, but basicly the same car but without track power. If you squeeze the sides of the car near the top you should be able to remove the roof, there should be 4 tangs that lock it in place. Hope this helps.

A-B Hello & Welcome to the Forum!
looking at my loco's with traction tires, l see grooves for a traction tire on only one wheel.
Running trains, l run them both directions to keep wheel & track wear even.
Hope this is of some help.
