My situation: Polar Express with four lighted cars , anout 40 ft of Fastrack on a 4x8 with two remote switches and an olluminated tunnel. The CW89 provides power thru three power tracks. Wiring is correct as verified with meter
When plugged in with power lever down, i have a green light. As I raise the power lever to 5 %, the green light begins to blink and I have no power anywhere on layout The CW89 fan is on
Any ideas as to what is wrong? Tks

Thanks Fave So how many linear feet will it take to use a Lionel graduated trestle set- just up and down with no horizontal section at the highest point?

Santa brought my grandsons a Polar Express set last which was great. This year Santa brought some accessories, more track and a pair of new remote control 036 Fastrack switches. We expanded the layout loop to 4x8 and added the switches for a smaller interior loop. The track has plenty of power - a CW80 transformer with two power connections on opposite sides of the loop. One power connections is only one 10” straight track away from the balky switch. My grandsons were having a great time until the left hand switch stopped responding to the remote lever control. The switch has power- the lights are on at both lever control and small directional warning light on the switch. The three connections from the switch to adjacent track are good as confirmed with voltmeter. The powered track portions on the switch itself are powered as confirmed with voltmeter. I can feel the micro switches inside the remote lever control make contact. This switch worked as advertised for 20 minutes then stopped working.
Do I have a setup or connection issue or do I have a failed switch?
Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks Will

Another Polar Express set expansion question Larry: To power a large layout I think i need two power tracks at third points of the layout. I have purchased more track including a second 10" straight power track and a CW80 transformer.
In order to keep the wall pack and its plug intact for future use with the original, small layout, I want to set it aside and use the CW80 with two power tracks.
So I intend to purchase a plug and pigtail to use with the plug in 10" straight power track and the CW80. The power track that I recently purchased has soldered wires rather than a side plug
This will give me two power tracks with connecting wires with braided conductor wire ends to attach to the CW80
So, my question has to do with which wire in the power wire feeds the center rail and which feeds the outer rail. I need to know this to connect the CW80 correctly and to avoid connecting one power track one way and the other another, opposite way.
Any help appreciated.

I gave my grandsons a Polar Express last year and plan to expand it this year.
I want to add remote control switches with the same turn out radius as the track in the PR set. I think the PE curves are 36" Can someone confirm this?
To add track and switches I have purchased a CW-80 transformer. I understand that the remote hand held controller will control engine functions with the CW 80. What I don't know is how much "juice" to supply from the CW80 - should the orange power handle be 1/4 up or 1/2 up or 3/4 up or what?
Any help appreciated Will

Hello-new bee here I have a Polar Express kit that Santa brought my grandsons last year.
This year I want to add track and 2 remote control switches. From other posts I see that the wall pack supplied with the kit is iffy power wise and that it has no provision for powered accessories and that a CW 80 is recommended.
So, my question is - can the hand held controller that came with the kit be used with the CW 80 transformer?
If so, any tips I should know?
Thanks muchop
