I am setting up my O27 train set for the first time since I was a kid, but now I have the resources to do it right. The layout I have set up is about 8 ft by 12 ft. There are 3 loops(50 straight pieces 35 curved) and 12-14 switches. I purchased an 80 watt transformer to power it, but it is clearly not enough. I need to know how much power I am going to need before I start purchasing more equipment.
Thanks Dave 3

All, thank you for the help. I ended up purchasing another e-unit on ebay, and that solved the problem.

I recently got my childhood train set back and am setting it up. It is a Norfolk & Western Spirit of 76 set, and it seems to be stuck in neutral. I give the transformer power and the locomotive lights light up, but it will not move
I am not familiar with the settings, and not entirely sure how to get it into and out of neutral and how to change directions. Thanks Dave
