All, thank you for the help. I ended up purchasing another e-unit on ebay, and that solved the problem.

it solved the problem till you bump the switch and your new locomotive wont run, wouldnt it be better to post a couple of pics so you have two running locomotives? after all were talking about whats probably a free fix

at a glance i would say its original. i mean look at the machine stamped boss around the opening in the cowcatcher. personally i think the engine looks awesome as-is!

hi, my name is jean, and im fairly new to lionel. i did HO when i was a kid. started out with the lionel last december with my grandson, and now this stuff has taken over my house! at least we are having fun with it and i have no wife to **** about it lmao! anyway im looking forward to learning and participating here!
this is what breakfast time looks like for my grandson. im trying to get my act together to build a layout in our loft

im new to lionel, and got thrown to post war. a rotten friend of mine gave me some train stuff, mostly HO, but one box had enough O27 track to make an oval, a locomotive, and 4 cars. well i gave that to my grandson and well,,,,,, since december its taken over my darned house! oh well you can have worse hobbies/love affairs

I just love the post war steam locomotives! I'm fairly new to collecting Lionel, and got stuck on stupid with the steamers. my semi-local Lionel stores has given me some amazing deals on engines.
