I didn't mention on the original post that the LEDs that don't stay lit do very briefly blink so I think the LEDs are good and the circuit board is faulty. What's up with NLT, I entered all the correct data into their parts search and came up with item not found so I emailed them a week ago with no response. Ed

In my recent post I may be wrong on the mixing of ac and dc as in using a cw-80 with lioncheif engines.

I'm a newby to this forum and I didn't think you can mix lionchief with a cw-80 as the first is dc and the later ac. This is why i'm getting rid of my lionchief set. You can't mix the 2 unless your in blocked sections. I like ac control as I can run all O gauge lionel trains from any era and also use accessories without a hassle. I tried to put a remote uncoupling section on my lionchief layout and all it does is short out the operation. However if you are keeping your layout strictly lionchief,it's a great technical breakthrough as you can run multiple engines on the same track almost like dcc but you may have to power accessories with an ac transformer until lionel comes out with dc accessories. You can run separate loops within your layout and mix the 2 as long as they stay separate in every way.

The gates are not in warranty so I am attempting a repair on my own. It's a challenge as well because I am a retired Lionel Service Station called Ed's Trains and pre and post war is my specialty. I say IS because I'm still repairing but Lionel retired me because I didn't want to get into all the new electronics with circuit boards. This item has a circuit board and therefore creates the challenge that I've taken on. So I'm looking for any help that I can get, however I understand most would trash them if not under warranty. Ed

I have a pair that I bought off of Ebay and the flashers don't flash, one red led lights up on each cross buck and does not flash however the gates do operate correctly. Are the led bulbs burnt out? Is the PCB board defective on each unit? I have the wires hooked up correctly to the 153C contactor per wiring instructions and to the correct voltage. Each crossing signal does work independently or together the same as mentioned above. I did get a refund from the seller and was allowed to keep them so I am trying to repair verses discarding them. Any help is appreciated. Ed
