to stop automatically at designated points along the oval track for a specified period of time (say 10 seconds) and then automatically start rolling again to the next "trolley stop" to do the same thing. I would need a simple electronic device I could fashion from parts from an electronics store with design plans and diagrams or equipment that is ready-made that I could buy to do this task. There has to be a sensor/trigger device on the track that knows when the trolley is at the stopping point and the device has to cut off power to the transformer for a certain amount of time and then power the transformer back on again after the time has passed to make the trolley move again. This would give my trolley continuous stop-and-go action. Something like this could also work for electric trains as around a Christmas tree. I have scale trolley stops with people figures at them but have to manually control the trolley at the transformer to stop. It would be a lot more fun if the trolley (the 2000 Garland Holiday Town Transit No. 7) could be made to stop-and-go regularly by itself and stop at designated positions on the layout.
As an added bonus, I would like a way of hearing a trolley "bell" ring when the trolley arrives at the stop and ring again
just before the trolley takes off again.
