O Scale / K-Line Articulated Flat Cars w/ Trailers
« on: November 12, 2015, 06:01:38 am »
I have the K-Line K-7702 and K-77023 Articulated Flat Cars w/ Trailers. Both sets came with plastic trucks and couplers. Does anyone know where I might get replacement trucks with couplers for the two ends and just the truck without coupler that goes in the middle that are made of die cast metal?

Thanks,

Ed Kempf

Power & Control / Re: Fastrack Switches and SC-2
« on: April 18, 2015, 03:36:08 pm »
Here is the response from Lionel:

Edward,

If you send the SC-2 to us we can fix it so that you can use 6 switches.  Otherwise the manual is correct because port 1 cannot be used for switches.

Thank You,

Angela S

By the manual being correct I assume they mean the O-90 switch manual, because that is not what is in the SC-2 manual, and it sure is not what is shown in the Mike R. video.

You can use terminal #1 on the SC-2 for switches, but you cannot power the SC-2 with the wallpack. The SC-2 must be powered from the switches power.
See page 6 of the SC-2 owners' manual for the explanation.

Thank you for the reply.  The problem is that is in direct conflict with the following:

On page 10 of that manual it says not to use position 1

Power & Control / Fastrack Switches and SC-2
« on: April 16, 2015, 03:39:28 pm »
I am confused as to how to use the SC-2 with Fastrack switches. The manual for the SC-2 says it can control up to 6 switches. I watched Mike Regan on the Lionel SC-2 page wire a Fastrack switch to the first position on the SC-2.  I then read in the manual for a Fastrack O-60 switch and it said the SC-2 can only control 5 switches and to "NOT" use position 1.  I am confused

O Scale / Re: Copatibility between Lionel and MTH
« on: March 08, 2014, 07:13:15 pm »
Yes they will work together all o scale trains can work on the same track and work together. Only things won't work together are the mth dcs and lionel legacy system together.

Please explain what you mean by this. I have both the Legacy System and DCS ad run both on the same track at the same time.

O Scale / Difference between Cab1 and TMCC
« on: March 08, 2014, 02:32:57 pm »
On a Cab2 when setting up a TMCC based engine, what is the difference between the choice of setting it up as Cab1 or TMCC?

Thanks,

O Scale / TMCC setup for F3 A-B-A set 6-14588
« on: March 06, 2014, 04:57:43 pm »
What is the best way to setup in TMCC this set. The powered A is engine 19. Should I assign engine 19 to the A unit and different numbers to the dummy B and A.  How do you set up a lash up?

Thanks,

Ed Kempf

Dave,

Thank you for the reply.  From what I can see, the one that came in the set has lighted number boards and railsounds 5.0.  The other one looks like it does not have lighted number boards and it only said it has railsounds. Since it was produced in 2002 what version of railsounds might it have as the manual does not state.

Thanks,

Ed

General Lionel Model Train Discussion / Re: Power Requirement
« on: February 03, 2014, 01:18:04 pm »
I know that it has been a long time since you asked your question, but if you went with a Cab 1L , I would use a powermaster 6-37146 and either a powerhouse 135 watt 6-12866 or powerhouse 180 watt 6-22983. With a Cab 1L or the Cab2, you will have no need for a power supply with a control arm.

Could some tell me the difference between Santa Fe U28 CG 6-182293 (2002 Vol. catalog) and the Santa Fe 6-28249 (I believe part of the 6-31748 train set 2007 Vol. 1).  I know the paint schemes were different, I am talking electronically, railsounds, etc.

Thanks,

Ed Kempf
