Title: Mounting 2937-25 Track Cleaning Car Sponges
Post by: Bobbo on April 15, 2020, 11:17:31 am
Need suggestions on how to mount the 2937-25 sponges to the sponge plate. Years ago I tried gluing it, but the sponge sucked up the glue rendering it useless. Thanks, Bob

The Track Cleaning car is #3927

I believe the replacement sponge kit came with a double-sided tape that the sponge was pressed onto, and then that assembly was pressed onto the Drive Arbor:

Without the double-sided tape, you can try using rubber cement. It is thick, and won't get absorbed by the sponge.

I saw that picture. I was kinda leaning towards the ones without adhesive as one eBayer has 50 of them for $11.00 (more than I will ever need). Thanks for the rubber cement suggestion. I was thinking maybe contact cement since I have a lot of it. With 50 of them I can experiment.
