Title: Post War locos & Diesel engines running on fastrack
Post by: jamesvalinoti on December 28, 2018, 07:39:57 pm
Recently purchased from Hobbyspeed, an upgrade layout for my previously purchased
LionChief Pennsylvania Keystone Special set.  Upon questioning Hobbyspeed, I received confirmation that my Post War locomotives and Diesel engines would run on this 0 Gage fastrack layout.
The diesels light up when put on the tracks, but will not run.  The locomotives will run, but only at full speed, because the remote that controls this set, will not control the locomotives.
Does anyone have experience with Post War engines running on fastrack layouts?
Thank you,
Jim

Welcome to the forum!

Your Postwar locomotives will run on a Fastrack layout with a conventional variable AC voltage transformer controlling them only.

The LionChief remote will only operate LionChief equipped locomotives using the constant voltage power pack supplied with the set. The remote controls the speed through electronics in the locomotive. Postwar locomotives do not have the electronics needed to be controlled by remote.
