Title: Lion Chief Plus problems
Post by: BartW on October 05, 2016, 09:42:33 am
Hi all,
Just received a Lion Chief GP20 and have 2 problems.
First it jerks when starting out in forward but does run smooth after getting up to speed. It does work fine in Reverse?
Also the remote control direction is backwards.  Turning to Forward it goes into Reverse
and vice versa.
Any thoughts on these 2 issues?
Thanks

Let your engine break in see what happens and you could have your wires switched on your track. Make sure red wire to center rail and black wire to outside rail.

Thanks for your reply. I will wait till I break in the engine.
As far as track wires, I do have 2 other Lion Chief (Engines) and their
remote(s) work in the right direction.
Really no big deal but was just curious if there was a simple fix

I've the RS-3 Lionchief Plus, delivered today, and it has the exact, same problem.  It works in reverse, but jerks, hesitates, and sometimes stops in forward.  The lights flicker in forward, but are steady in reverse. Very odd. After running in forward and stopping/powering down, it won't do anything until I manually move it or push down on the top. However, it operates 100% in reverse, never having a problem.

Return the items to the place of purchase for a warranty repair or exchange. Test the items before leaving the store.

Yup, I called the dealer, and he had no suggestions other than to swap it with another.    I requested he test the replacement before I make the trip, and he did.  Looking at it, I can't see any reason for the failure.   Going there today for the swap.
