Title: Christmas Trains
Post by: Pops on May 15, 2023, 02:18:18 pm
I'd like to see if others run a Christmas layout all year.
Are Christmas trains not discussed here?

Which gauge do you run?

Do you use a single brand of buildings or many?

Because I am a Class 2 railroader (temporary structures only) I am able to build beautiful Christmas lay-outs. I collect stuff all year from yard sales, junk shops, etc.

Coca-Cola makes the best-quality items for their price, so they figure heavily into my lay-outs. I like Lego Christmas houses and have three of them. M&M items are cheap and glitzy, but I have a few good ones.

And then I have penguins (Yeah, I know--there are no penguins at the North Pole), polar bears, reindeer, Santas, snow globes, etc.

Yes, penguins fit everywhere!

Sounds like a fun layout.

POPS, I have a unique situation. My son-in-law and I converted a huge lower level 2 1/2 car garage into a Mother-in-law suite for the wife and I. Now here is my problem, I have no where to set up a display. Therefore I must take my Christmas train apart and put it in storage...Whew! that is really difficult because I also have no storage space. I need some ideas. Thought about doing a break apart system.....don't know what they are called, but again, no place to store the modules. Help !
