soooo, happy! the reverse direction contact was not making contact when it fell it fell on the button...it got depressed so far the contact bent and wasn't making contact!!!
Had a video but it wouldn't load. Thank you for your help!!!!

If you look at the pictorial diagram of the mechanism, you will see both contact arms are insulated from each other by the outer and inner shaft assembly. Both contact arms are wired separately to their respective binding posts.

On the contact arm that is not working, double check the wiring from the arm to its respective binding post.
With an AC voltmeter, attach one lead to any 'U' post, and touch the other lead directly to the coil near the contact arm in question. You should get a reading. Move the voltmeter probe across the winding back and forth and you should see the voltage go up one way, and down the other way.
Now take the voltmeter probe and clip it to the problem contact arm near the roller and move the arm back and forth. The voltage should vary up and down like before. Next, move the voltmeter probe to where the wire gets soldered to the arm and check as before. Finally, move the voltmeter lead to the corresponding binding post and check back and forth once again. If you lose voltage anywhere, that is where your problem is.
Double check that all binding posts on the rear terminal plate are solid and not loose. The binding posts are riveted to the terminal plate, and after time and use, the rivets break, and the binding posts make intermittent contact.
Double check all wiring to the schematics. Rely on that only.

Thanks, I've done that. It at least seems from other answers I've gotten is that there is not an actual wiring problem and everything points to "something" not making contact. Since 99% of it still works except for the throttle not increasing. I've been inside, and as stated, rollers look fine and move across the coil, no loose wires ETC. The other side along with all the constant voltages work. That's what got me stymied.
I will add to my question- how does one throttle power get separated from the other side to run a different train. I mean, both rollers are on the same coil so ,where does it split off.

Take both control arms and the case off.

Make sure the contact arm for the throttle in question is touching the coil assembly, and that the carbon roller is not broken.

My new to me KW was working fine....Till I kicked the table and it fell...Now, one side won't increase voltage. As I move the throttle, the voltmeter remains at 2. Everything else works. The other throttle, the direction buttons, the whistles. The posts all feel solid. The wires all feel firmly connected. I've taken the two handles off, I had previously replaced the rollers and the rectifier. Was and still working fine. Can anyone point me in the right direction as what to look at? Possibilities?
