An introduction to the Legacy Control System is here.

Using the Legacy remote, you will need additional items to control switches, motorized accessories and lighting.
A detailed diagram of what items are needed to control various parts of a layout is here.

The Legacy Command set is the basis of the system:

I do not believe the LionChief/LionChief+ systems allow you to control any accessories, only the locomotives so equipped.

Thank you for letting me be a part of the forum.
Now with the legacy system am I able to control different things throughout the layout or do I have to control everything manually? Also is there any difference in wiring everything between the 2 systems or no?

Welcome to the forum!
The Legacy system allows you to operate Legacy-controlled locomotives as well as conventional, non-remote locomotives.
The LionChief system will only operate LionChief equipped locomotives.

Hello all, I’m wondering what everyone’s take on the legacy system and the LionChief/LionChief 2.0 system is? Is there advantages or disadvantages to one system or the other? I’m trying to figure out which route I want to go on the layout I want to start up. I know one is definitely more expensive than the other but other than that what would be a better route to go?
