Title: Re: Combining O gauge and O 27

Thanks Larry /  I ended up a few years back changing all to 0 27 . My curves are 042 and 054. switches are 042. I have a rather big layout but it has been 15 years since I had taken it down. Tina's Father has a lot of old everything, Sante Fe 2353 P , 2 Hudson's, old box cars etc etc which adds to all I have purchased. Just hate to not use that old track. The switch's are awesome !  I will post a picture when I get it together.

Welcome to the forum!

There are no 'transition' pieces to connect '0' track to '027' for a number of reasons.

First as you state, there is a height difference between the 2 types of track. That would mandate raising the '027' track to match the '0' gauge track height.

More importantly, the rails themselves are a different size; '0' gauge track being taller and wider. The joining pins for '0' gauge are too big to fit in the ends of '027' track.

Your layout will be either all '027', or all '0' gauge track.

My wife's father left his O gauge trains to us . i would like to combine the track with the O 27 I currently use. does Lionel have a track available to combine the two ? Obviously the tracks are different heights. I transition piece to connect would be nice to have .
