The North Pole Central set is a Large Scale set running on 'G' gauge track. (The track is not compatible with other 'G' gauge track).

The Santa Freight set is an '0' gauge set.

The trains and tracks are different gauges, and therefore the trains will only run on their respective track.

You will need to run two separate layouts.

Title: Mixing two ssets

My first post. Several years ago I bought The North Pole Central Christmas train Set. I put it  up at Christmas Time And take it down for the rest of the year. But it  has grown larger each year and now occupies a 7 x 11 platform in the garage. I recently bought a Santa Freight set with Lion Chief Remote. Can I mix the two on the same track or do I need to create parallel layouts?
