Lionel customer service. Call them. They might have to replace it.

The Polar Express engine (1225) will light up when I place it on the track.  The remote lights up when I turn it on, but when I move the dial forward or reverse, the red light blinks on the remote and the train doesn't move.  I've taken the chassis off and fixed the power wire that runs to the wheels.  Are there any manuals that would help troubleshoot the electronics or do you start replacing boards?
