Hello & Welcome to the Forum.

It appears that you have a dead short somewhere.
Does the red light come on if the transformer is not hooked up to the track, when you power it up?
if you have a tester check to see if short is in transformer or elsewhere.
Possibly a bad piece of track, age gremlins got to the insulation on the rails or on wires,
just keep checking til you find the short.

Happy Rails!

I have a 1947 "O" gauge Lionel set up.  It is a small set I got as a kid.  The engine stopped running and no power to the caboose light.  The Transformer RED light comes on when turned on.  No power to the engine, no caboose light.  Any idea what might be wrong?  Thanks for any help.
