Sounds like  'G Scale'. Many modelers are of the notion that the term 'Large Scale' is best to describe the various scales of models that usually run on 45 mm (1.772 in) track.

Title: Helping local business with two Basic back-and-forth, single tracks

Hello I am trying to help a local business that has two very old train systems on their wall that are used to entertain customers. One travels back and forth about 60ft and the other about 40 ft. They are currently on a track that is 1 3/4" wide and they are having problems with reliability (sensors for switchback and the transformer) and wants to replace everything with a newer system. Based on what I have read I may not be able to replace it with the same size (1 gauge?) of system, but the owner is fine with that as long as it is big enough to be visually interesting in order to capture the imagination of the patrons. So I need to know what components (track, trains, transformers, direction seners) he would need an approximate cost for both tracks.  He doesn't need sound, but lights and smoke might be ok as long as it isn't hazardous.
