I have never heard of anyone trying to refill this type of car.
You could either make a small plug for your drilled hole, or seal the hole with clear epoxy.

I understand.  The reoscopic fluid that I suspect they used can be had from Amazon.  You would have to add food coloring to get the blue color that was used in the type I have.  I thought you might be able to drill a very small hole in the top of the tank and use a 20 gauge needle and syringe to refill it.  The problem would be to seal up the hole.  I just thought perhaps someone had done this before.  Thanks very much for the info.

Welcome to the forum!
I doubt the car was designed to be refilled. Given the fluid that was used, the tank was sealed at manufacture. See here for the fluid used, and the caution associated with the fluid.

I have the AEC tank car 6515-1.  Since I got the car in 97 the fluid level has gone down by 50%.  Can the car be refilled?
