Here is a nice view of a Vanderbilt tender behind a locomotive. These were specifically designed for oil fired locomotives. Here is a link to the original article and more pictures.http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/steamtown/shs2h.htm (http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/steamtown/shs2h.htm)

Both items are tenders. The left tender is for a coal fired locomotive, and the right tender is for an oil fired locomotive. It looks to be a #260T.
There are no motors in tenders unless they have whistles in them.

I have this lionel set but i don't know what it is. The tender is marked 258T but the loco has no markings. I am not sure if this is a set or two different pieces. the loco does not have an engine in it. Does anyone know?
