Do not modify the motor to try and fix the problem. Find out the reason for the problem and then repair it. If the motor field is loose, tighten it if possible, or bring it to a repair facility. Check that the axle worm gear is not worn, and that the lower armature bearing is not worn either. Replace the brushplate with part #8010-139 if necessary to make sure you have a good upper armature bearing. ok looking for feedback , have taken apart .lubed ,greased ,re-sodered all connections, checked and re-checked e unit. this unit looks mint and I have both the powered and dummy unit with horn. Here's the problem the amature is either off centre or the body/frame needs to be restaked. I have added a small nylon [homemade washer to the top of the armature ] and a flat metal washer to the bottom in an effort to control movement. I still see rubbing against the sides this of course impedes the use of the e-unit forward/neutral /reverse. Option A is to grind off some of the inside diameter /field to allow for movement ,Option B is to restake the motor. which would be extremely hard to do on my small limited workspace. Any suggestions?
