Title: Re: Attaching Fastrack to layout table

bdeditch,
Hello & Welcome to the Forum!

You can use either a small nail or a #4 screw to attach your track to your layout, using the holes that are pre-drilled in the track.
Pink or blue extruded foam has been used on layouts to deaden the fastrack noise, but some other form of fastening must be used.
I have heard of folks using clear silicone sealant/caulking to attach the track to the foam.
Lay out with a pen/marker where the track will be placed, lay down a line or two of silicone, then pin the track in place until the silicone sets.
After the silicone sets,  remove the pins.

Happy Rails.

Newbie as well, I am going to be building a table but I cannot find anything that shows or explains how to attach the track to wood. I see the small holes, but are nails only suppose to be used? I have also seen some articles on using foam to lay under the track to dampen the noise. Any and all help would be great.
