I gave an early 259E set to my daughter. The engine is an early 259E, Red Spoke drivers. I was at her house watching the train set, since it was my Mother's when she was a child. The engine was wobbly when running on the fast track. I thought at first it was due to the zinc pest, but looking further, the front axle was loose in the bushings. I am assuming that the brass bushings are worn after almost a century of use. Replacing the bushings and axle does not seem simple. Does anybody have a simple solution for this?
