Got it. Have to take the 6 screws out for the cab then take out the long screw on the bottom of the truck and motor comes out. There are 2 screws in the bottom of the truck one for the motor and one electrical pick up. One truck had a lot of grease the other very very little.

the lube schematic show's where the 6 screws to remove  to take the shell off are located.

I have the manual. But it doesn't show how to get at the worm gear. It is easy on my Lionel steam engine 4 screws and your are there.

How do you lub the worn gear on the motor? Looks like take out the long screw under the truck and pull the motor out the top. Is this right? Is the motor keyed where you need to turn it one way or the other? Model 6-38232
