But one way or the other, can you let us know how it works out?

Vince, it lights up and makes the sounds it would make awaiting connection to the remote. But it does not connect to either its dedicated remote or to a Lion Chief universal remote that I tried. And I tried each remote independently because I know the signal of one can interfere with the other. Any ideas?

Jjm, are you able to run it on a track with a transformer to see if that works?

I have a 6-18770 Christmas Thomas with Lion Chief remote. Older, no Bluetooth. Was sitting in storage since last Christmas. Fired it up. It makes "neutral" sound and lights, but receives no signals, either from its dedicated remote or a universal remote. I assume the receiving board is dead? Any suggestions of things to try before replacing the board (at least $45, if I can get one) or just junking the thing?
