Welcome to the forum!

The product number will be of great help to help you resolve your problem.

The drive wheels have a groove in them for the traction tire, and without the tires, the wheels will not touch the rail, giving no traction.

Title: 4-4-0 LionChief's rubber wheels are deteriorating

I as well own a 2-8-4 which has absolutely zero black rubber on the track but my 4-4-0 is constantly leaving black rubber on the tracks. I use rubbing alcohol to get the black rubber off the track but eventually the entire wheels are going to be metal. Can I just leave that the way it is? Full metal on metal tracks, I really see no point in replacing the rubber on the wheels if it's going to deteriorate yet again after replacing the rubber.

Is anyone else having a problem with their 4-4-0 LionChief?
