Welcome to the forum!

Since this is a brand new item, return it to the dealer and ask for an exchange or repair. It sounds like the coupler was installed upside down. The motor will have to be removed from the truck so the truck can be lowered away from the frame. The coupler can then be accessed.

Title: Alaska RR Superbass upside down coupler

I recently purchased and received the Alaska RR F7 AA Set (2033240) with Alaska RR F7B (2033248) and Alaska RR Superbass F7B.

The Superbass has couplers turned the same way. One is upside down. You cannot connect this unit to other trains (two left feet).

How can I get this corrected?
