Traditional Smoke Fluid Smell
« on: January 14, 2022, 04:39:07 pm »
Question for the Lionel history experts.  My parents bought me an O-Guage Lionel train when I was 3 years old.  Loved it!   One thing I remember most about the train was the smell of the smoke that would come out of the locomotive.  I remember the smoke fluid came in a green glass bottle with a metal dropper attached to the lid.  I really enjoyed that smell.  About 10 years ago, I purchased a Lionel Christmas train and it came with a bottle of smoke fluid that produced the exact same smell when I run the train.  Every time I put the train out at Christmas that smoke smell brings me back to when I was a kid.  My bottle of fluid is getting low.  I noticed that now there are several scented smoke bottles for purchase but I am interested in getting the kind that smells like the traditional smoke.  Does anyone know if Lionel still makes that kind of traditional smoke fluid?  If so, what "scent" should I order?

Thank you

I would send an e-mail to Lionel, telling them the type of Christmas train you bought and asking if one of their scented smoke fluids is the one that came with it.
