Welcome to the forum!

Lionel catalogued the locomotive as needing 054 minimum curves.

036 curved track is less than the minimum and the locomotive will not traverse it.

Thank you. Will a lionel Diesel that states min curve 031, will that work OK on my 036 track curve?

Any locomotive catalogued for an 031 minimum curve will work on any larger curves, such as 036 or 054.

Liv
Hello & Welcome to the Forum!

lt is best to follow the minimum curve specified by the locomotive manufacturer.  You can run you train on larger curves with no problem..
In reality, you can run your locomotive on smaller curves, BUT you will experience binding on the curve resulting in excessive wheel and track wear.

Happy Rails!
