Hey guys I am new to the forum. My father was an AVID Lionel train collector. When he passed away I inherited his collection. I myself have never been a train enthusiast but non the less I am now the proud owner of a 300+ pc collection. I have absolutely no idea how much the collection is worth. I am trying to gauge the value of his collection, not for sale reasons, but just to get a grasp on what I am currently storing in my house. Would a train store be able and willing to come over and do an appraisal? And if so, could they be trusted? Or would an independent appraiser be a better option? Or another option I am not thinking of? I am very curious
