Mixing old and new

Can a non Command control locomotive be put to sleep in a siding while you run a Command control train on the rest of the layout ? Can the remote control switch control the power to the siding ? if not how do i do it and is there a description or pdf. on how to accomplish it ?

You can run Command or non-Command locomotives on a layout while having Command or non-Command locomotives on a siding. You can cut the power to the siding using a simple switch.
